About Graton Resort & Casino in California

Before we discuss the establishment in more detail, let’s first answer the question: Where is Graton Resort & Casino located? The resort’s address is 288 Golf Course Drive West in Rohnert Park, California, in Sonoma wine county. It’s also just a one-hour drive north of San Francisco.

Before the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria decided on the present location of the casino, they had to move the planned sites a few times due to environmental concerns. In 2005, the tribe decided to begin construction on a 90-acre site on Wilfred Avenue. Station Casinos acquired the $76 million property for the tribe, and it submitted its application to take the land into trust.

After some failed environmental protests and a lawsuit, the tribe finally took the land into trust in 2010. Construction started in June 2012 with a budget of $825 million, the largest construction budget for a Native American establishment ever. The project was finished the following year, and the casino opened its doors on Nov. 5, 2013.

Just two years later, in Sept. 2015, the first major expansion project took off on the site. As a result, the resort got a $175 million, 200-room hotel with a pool, spa, fitness center, and a 20,000-square-foot event and meeting space.

In addition, Graton Resort & Casino in Rohnert Park currently includes a 317,750-square-foot casino floor, making it the third-largest Indian casino in the country. It also offers over 3,000 slots, a poker room, and over 100 table games, making it one of the best casinos in California.

In April 2022, the casino announced its plans to expand its casino floor and build a new hotel tower. The expansion project is set to include 221 hotel rooms, a garage, a 3,500-seat theater, and 144,000 square feet of gaming space with a rooftop restaurant.
