Rams Super Bowl Odds: LA No Longer Among Betting Favorites After Slow Start to Season

It’s been an up-and-down journey through Week 5 of the NFL season, and Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl odds have been adjusted accordingly at sportsbooks.

The defending Super Bowl champions started the season at odds of +1500 to repeat at DraftKings Sportsbook. But those odds have lengthened to +2500 after the Rams limped out of the starting gate to a 2-3 record.

The Buffalo Bills (+350) are the betting favorite to win Super Bowl 57 at DraftKings. The Bills defeated the Rams, 31-10, in the 2022 NFL season opener on Sept. 8 at SoFi Stadium.

Odds are updated as of Oct. 11.

The Rams’ odds lengthened across the board. Los Angeles is coming off a 22-10 home loss to Dallas, and the high-octane offense from a year ago sputtered again in Week 5. Los Angeles was ranked 29th in the NFL with 16 points per game as of this writing.

Matthew Stafford has been sacked 21 times through five games compared to 30 all of last season. Cooper Kupp continues to be a bright spot, as the diminutive wide receiver is second in the league with 527 receiving yards and four TDs. Kupp has more targets (64) than any other NFL player, as well.

LA entered Week 1 with the fourth-best Super Bowl futures odds, but it fell outside of the top-10 betting favorites to 11th as of this update.

Rams Looking for Answers on Offense

LA acquired Allen Robinson II from the Bears during the offseason, but the Rams haven’t figured out a way to utilize him. Robinson had just 107 receiving yards and one TD through five games.

That lack of production is more glaring given the fact that fellow WR Van Jefferson (knee) has yet to play this season. Jefferson is expected to be back following LA’s bye in Week 7.

After coming back to help the Rams win a Super Bowl seven months after an ACL injury, Cam Akers was expected to be LA’s bell cow RB. But Akers managed to produce just 151 rushing yards and one TD through Week 5.

LA’s defense still features the league’s nastiest trio in DE Aaron Donald, NG A’Shawn Robinson, and DE Greg Gaines. Donald has a team-high four sacks on the season. Linebacker Bobby Wagner, who came to LA from Seattle, leads the team in total tackles with 39.

Rams Have the Toughest Schedule in the NFL

NFL schedule makers didn’t do the Rams any favors. LA has the most difficult schedule in the league, per Upwork rankings.

The Rams are in the midst of a two-game losing streak after coming up short against San Francisco and Dallas. The good news is LA hosts Carolina in Week 6. That should be a get-well game against the Panthers (1-4), who fired head coach Matt Rhule and lost starting QB Baker Mayfield to a high ankle sprain. The Rams are a 10-point favorite against the Panthers, and they should even their record to 3-3 entering the bye week.

LA still has to play non-conference games against the Kansas City Chiefs and LA Chargers. There’s also a road date in December against NFC heavyweight Green Bay.

LA Rams Super Bowl Odds Betting Analysis

We began the season believing LA had everything it needed to make another Super Bowl run, but now we’re not so sure. Things can change dramatically on a week-to-week basis in the NFL over the course of such a long season. But LA will need to address its offensive deficiencies during the bye week and come out better prepared in Week 8 and beyond.

Head coach Sean McVay has proven to be an offensive mastermind and should be up to the challenge. With LA’s odds now ranging from +2000 to +2500 at major sportsbooks, the Rams are no longer among the betting favorites to win Super Bowl 57. Perhaps it’s a good time to buy low on LA at higher odds.

What Other NFL Futures Bets Can I Make?

NFL futures odds are available throughout the year. You can bet on a team’s season win total. With these wagers, you’re betting under or over a fixed number of wins. For example, as of this update, DraftKings had the Rams at 9.5 wins with +105 on the over and -125 on the under.

It’s important to compare futures odds at multiple California sportsbooks because there can be variance across the market. The Rams were offered at +1100 at all of the sportsbooks mentioned above before the season started, but what if you wanted to bet on the Chicago Bears to win Super Bowl 57? FanDuel had the Bears at +10000 and DraftKings offered them at +15000. Where are you making your bet on Chicago? At DraftKings, of course.

Savvy sports bettors understand the importance of opening accounts at multiple sportsbooks. This allows them to locate and bet on the best available futures odds across the industry. It also helps them take advantage of multiple California sports betting bonuses.

Betting on NFL Teams to Make or Miss the Playoffs

Another futures betting market allows you to bet on teams to make or miss the NFL Playoffs. The Rams were -135 to make the playoffs and +105 to miss the postseason at DraftKings as of this writing.

If you believe LA will again make the playoffs, you could bet $135 to win $100. A $100 wager on the Rams missing the playoffs will pay out $105 if that happens.
