Table Mountain Casino Resort, just north of Fresno, is now serving alcohol.
Formerly a dry casino, the 600,000-square-foot casino complex began serving alcohol in its restaurants in January, a casino representative told California Casinos. Those restaurants are Eagles Landing Steakhouse, Blue Oak Grille, and Sukai.
The casino representative also told California Casinos that Table Mountain is still an 18-and-over casino. There are 16 such casinos in the state, and it is the second-largest of the 18+ casinos in California, behind Morongo Casino Resort & Spa.
Table Mountain began the process of transferring the liquor license from now-closed Yoshino Japanese Restaurant on July 22, one day after the new casino resort opened.
According to the Fresno Business Journal, Fresno County Recorder’s Office records say the license was sold from the restaurant to the casino for $30,000.
The legal gambling age in California is actually 18. However, most Indian casinos require guests to be 21 or older because they serve alcohol, and they don’t want any underage drinking incidents happening on the property. With alcohol limited to just the restaurants, though, and not on the casino floor, Table Mountain Casino chose to still allow 18+ gamblers.
There are no restrictions for 18+ gambling at Table Mountain. At other 18-and-over casinos, only certain gambling areas allow guests younger than 21. Viejas Resort & Casino near San Diego, for instance, only allows 20-and-under gamblers in the slots parlor and bingo hall. At Bear River Casino Resort, 18+ guests can only gamble at the adjacent gas station, Bear River Pump & Play.
